In the 1950s some lucid minds were able to foresee the changing needs for the new times that were coming in Spain. The autarky forced on our country by the blockade following the Second World War was now a thing of the past. Europe had overcome the economic catastrophe resulting from the war, and some people were able to sense that Spain would soon follow the same path.
Since then, ICADE has continuously served Spain's business world. It has been distinguished by being the fruit of a collaboration between the Society of Jesus and groups of academic and professionals who sensed the advanced training needs in our country's field of business, detected the gaps in the Spanish university system, and dedicated themselves generously and with excitement to avoid the bureaucratization and slackness which is so common amongst those of us in the academic world, to create an institution which is solvent and prestigious and is able to provide a service of value to society and has continuously expanded its activities which are socially recognized with ever growing prestige.
